IOD report says taxes still weigh heavily on SMEs 0
In a report issued by the IOD it is stated that the real tax burdens on business are much more than that imposed by just corporation tax.
Currently corporation tax rates are 20% and 26% however the IOD claims that the real tax burden ranges from 32% to 43%.
Even taking into account the future planned reductions in corporation tax announced in the last budget the IOD maintains that this will do little to help smaller firms. The IOD says that factoring the additional burdens of employers national insurance, business rates and road fuel duty means an ongoing heavy burden is still applied to SME's.
